The founder and leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), Rev. Obofour, shared his insights on why the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing his congregation, Rev. Obofour highlighted several factors contributing to the party’s defeat.

He pointed out that Ghanaians have grown tired of the arrogance and pride displayed by some politicians, especially towards the youth.

“Ghanaians have been able to bring down the proud men in politics. Pride and arrogance are part of the reason why they didn’t win,” he stated.

Referring to the Free Senior High School program, Rev. Obofour noted the poor quality of food provided under the program, which has been a point of contention.

He also mentioned the ongoing issue of “dumsor” (persistent power outages), which the NPP had criticised the previous government for but failed to resolve themselves.

According to Rev. Obofour, many people were suffering in silence but are now more vocal about their dissatisfaction.

“The people were suffering but couldn’t voice it out. Why is it that all of a sudden everyone is happy to talk?” he added.

He emphasised that the behavior of some NPP members was a significant reason for their loss in the elections.
