Ghana international Inaki Williams was in action for Athletic Club on Wednesday, November 4, 2024, and helped the team to defeat Real Madrid 2-1 in the Spanish La Liga.

The Black Stars striker started in the Round 19 clash staged at Estadio San Mames and lasted the entire duration of the contest.

In the exciting showdown, Real Madrid took the lead after just 14 minutes into the first half through a Kylian Mbappe strike. Unfortunately, the goal will not stand due to an offside upon a VAR review.

With no goals in the first half, both teams put up an improved performance in the second half in a bid to amass all three points.

The home team, Athletic Club, opened the scoring in the 53rd minute thanks to a strike from Alex Berenguer.

Kylian Mbappe had the chance to restore parity for Real Madrid in the 68th minute when the visitors were awarded a penalty kick.

    Unfortunately, his effort was saved.

Although Jude Bellingham would equalise ten minutes later to make it 1-1, Gorka Guruzeta scored with 10 minutes to go to secure a 2-1 win for Athletic Club.

Ghana’s Inaki Williams and his youngest brother, Nico Williams, played the full 9 minutes for the winners,

This season, Inaki Williams has scored three goals and provided four assists after making 15 appearances in the Spanish La Liga.
