Ghanaian teen sensation Edmund Baidoo

Ghanaian teen sensation Edmund Baidoo stole the spotlight on Sunday afternoon as he scored his second goal of the season to help RB Salzburg secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Blau Weiss Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Making his first-ever senior start for the Austrian giants, the 19-year-old winger showcased his immense potential with a brilliant solo goal in the 70th minute, doubling Salzburg’s lead after Dorgeles Nene had broken the deadlock earlier in the second half.

Baidoo’s electric pace and composure in front of goal were a delight to watch at the Red Bull Arena, earning him a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 86th minute.

Baidoo, who joined Salzburg from Norwegian side Sogndal IF for 3.30 million Euros last summer, has now scored three goals across all competitions this season.

He has also impressed in the UEFA Youth League with FC Liefering, registering two goals and three assists in seven appearances.

Baidoo is expected to earn a call-up to Ghana’s U20 squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt with his current form.

The future looks bright for the young winger, whose star is rising fast in European football.
