A young real estate agent has shared the ‘shocking’ text she received from a prospective buyer who dubbed her ‘completely useless’ out of the blue.
Ana Bujak, a 24-year-old agent for Ray White Castle Hill, in Sydney‘s northwest, was sent a message that simply read ‘Price!!!’.
She replied: ‘Hello, for which property?’.
The person then wrote back: ‘You are completely useless’.
Ms Bujak has seen a lot in her five years as a real estate agent and told Daily Mail Australia she couldn’t resist uploading the text exchange to TikTok.
‘Shocked was probably an understatement. I couldn’t believe someone would have the audacity to send me a message like that,’ Ms Bujak said.
‘Almost every second day, whether it’s on the phone or in person, it (rudeness) happens.
‘I think there’s a frustration in some people. They’ve had a horrible experience and it’s tarnished their thoughts on agents as a whole.’

Ms Bujak (pictured) said real estate agents are dealing with rude customers ‘every other day’
Ms Bujak said she had no previous communication with the person and had no way of knowing what property they were referring too.
But Ms Bujak was even more stunned by what happened after she unveiled the text exchange online, with many TikTokers joining the pile-on.
‘Then put a range? You’re not going to get more offers if you don’t put a starting bidding price, you’re just going to have people drop out because they can’t afford or are looking for something else,’ one commented.
‘Honest question, why don’t real estate agents ever put the price in the listing? It’s genuinely so annoying. People are so sick of these silly games real estate agents play. If you dumped those tactics, you would be famous’, another said.
A third claimed that not showing the price of a property was ‘infuriating’ behaviour.
Ms Bujak admitted she was left her scratching her head after realising the majority of Aussies weren’t on her side.
‘It really knocked my socks off. I just uploaded it to be a little funny video about what I experienced but heaps of people in the comments were on their side,’ she said.
‘You can’t do much about the people who are salty about these kind of things.’
Ms Bujak said she loved being a real estate agent despite the growing number of rude people
Ms Bujak explained to Aussies in the comments that that particular property’s price wasn’t on the listing because it was going to auction.
But people didn’t want to listen, even after she said the texter had showed up to a recent open house she was hosting and was ‘so rude’ in person as well.
Some did jump to Ms Bujak’s defence and argued that there was never an excuse to talk to anyone like that, with another saying it was an ‘insane way’ to go about it.
The real estate agent explained that some auctions did have price guides but it depended on the agency.
‘We don’t guide ours at all because of the crackdown from the Office of Fair Trading. The last thing we want to do is mislead or price-bait someone,’ she said.
‘I admit it’s a frustrating experience for both parties.’
Ms Bujak revealed a prospective buyer ‘went off’ at her after she politely asked them not to trespass on a client’s private property.
In 2023, the Governance Institute of Australia Ethics Index found that real estate agents were the least trusted professionals in Australia.
Soaring house prices and high demand and low availability have contributed to a dislike of real estate agents along with rents rising quickly across the country.
The national vacancy rate is just 1.4 per cent.
Despite all this, Ms Bujak said there was a very good reason why she would bite her tongue when dealing with the next rude person.
‘There have been experiences where I’ve dealt with extremely rude buyers in the past and they ended up buying the property, so you’ve got to cop it on the chin,’ she said.
