Ghanaian comedian DKB has shared his opinion on some netizens urging the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, to take more proactive steps in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).

In a post shared on X on March 24, 2025, a netizen, among several others with similar complaints, pointed out that while the minister was in opposition, he criticized former President Akufo-Addo for his failure to combat illegal mining.

Therefore, now that he is in a position of power, he should be proactive in addressing the issue.

But in response to the tweet, DKB argued that the minister should not be pressured.

“He should fix it? Why should it be destroyed in the first place if they claimed they were patriotic citizens. You can’t give anybody pressure,” he said.

He added that the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources can only do his best and not tackle everything.

“He will do what he can, just as your people did what they could to destroy it. Nation wrecker. Greedy fuckers!” he added.
