Sammy Adjei (L) and Charles Taylor (R) were teammates at the Black Stars

Former Black Stars forward, Charles Taylor has taken a playful yet pointed swipe at fellow ex-Black Stars and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy Adjei, questioning his readiness to return to professional football.

The exchange comes after Adjei, in an interview with Angel TV, hinted that he still has the talent to play between the posts and could even answer a World Cup call-up.

“The World Cup is six months away, right? I can use three months for training. Let me tell you something, experience counts in this job. Even when you stay at home, you can still work. It’s the same for us,” Adjei said.

However, Taylor was quick to respond, issuing a stern warning and a public taunt at Adjei’s suggestion.

Also speaking candidly on Angel TV, Taylor jokingly revealed how Adjei’s fitness would be exposed if he dared to play professionally again.

“He should check his system before he comes back to make that statement. Sammy is my brother, but he should put that decision down because even the ones we play, he concedes some kind of goals that are not good. You shouldn’t even consider that you’ll want to play first division,” he warned.
