General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro

The General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has criticised some sympathisers who were present at the burial ceremony of the late TikToker, Philipa Frimpong popularly known as “Yaa Baby.”

On July 5, 2025, videos circulated on social media, which showed an overloaded pickup truck carrying mourners en route to the cemetery.

Shortly after, more videos that made waves on social media indicated that the pickup vehicle overturned and had allegedly claimed four lives.

Reacting to the viral video, Prophet Kofi Oduro lambasted the mourners, stating that instead of reflecting on the sudden demise of Yaa Baby, they attended the burial service to exhibit their promiscuous lifestyle.

“The young lady died tragically and instead of the people to sit down and reflect on the death of the young lady, they come with their promiscuous lifestyle… Ashawo lifestyle to the young lady’s funeral and displays impunity and in the burial service of the young lady, then there is another accident that claims lives,” he said.

Prophet Kofi Oduro wondered why the youth have refused to think and learn from incidents surrounding Yaa Baby’s demise.

“The generation has refused to think. What we are focused on is pleasure than the Lord. We love happiness,” he added.

What happened to Yaa Baby:

Philippa Frimpong, known online as “Yaa Baby” (or sometimes “Shugar”), was a vibrant 21-year-old TikTok star from Tanoso, a suburb of Kumasi.

She first gained public attention through GH Kobby, a notable TikTok and Snapchat influencer. It was rumoured that the two had been dating for approximately six months.

On June 10, 2025, the couple, accompanied by two friends, Kojo Emmanuel, and Michael Kabutey, visited Seker, a village near Yeji in Ghana’s Bono East Region.

Things turned deadly when GH Kobby reportedly retrieved a loaded pump-action gun from his vehicle and discharged the weapon, fatally injuring Yaa Baby.

Despite attempts to revive her, she subsequently passed away at St. Mathias Hospital.

Her sudden death sparked widespread reactions on social media ad GH Kobby has since been arrested.
