Ghanaian actor and media personality, Kwaku Manu, has publicly expressed his disappointment in broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa following alleged threats made against him during a recent edition of Afrifa’s For The Records show.

In a heated on-air segment, Okatakyie Afrifa accused Kwaku Manu of attempting to benefit financially from affluent figures like Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

He also threatened to expose what he described as schemes by the Kumawood actor to gain favour from wealthy personalities.

The feud between the two escalated after Kwaku Manu recently appealed to former President John Dramani Mahama to regulate media freedom in Ghana.

Kwaku Manu specifically called for action against individuals like Twene Jonas, whose rise to prominence has been marked by sharp verbal attacks against high-profile figures.

Okatakyie Afrifa, a vocal advocate for free speech and a known critic of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), took exception to Manu’s plea, sparking the ongoing war of words.

Reacting to the threats, Kwaku Manu didn’t hold back. “Where I’m from, you can’t threaten or warn me. You’re not God. I see you to be a spoiled child who lacked discipline growing up,” he said in a response video.

He further criticised Afrifa for building what he described as a misleading public persona.
“You’re now tasting fame, so it has gotten to your head. You’re nobody. You’re an emotional blackmailer,” Manu fired back.

The actor also took a swipe at Afrifa’s political connections and alleged dependence on external financial support.

“I don’t rely on women, unlike you, whose new studio was funded by a woman and the party,” he added, alluding to Afrifa’s reported ties to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
