Founder and Presiding Bishop of Lighthouse Chapel International, Dag Heward-Mills, has responded to netizens for lambasting him over his recent comment regarding the payment of church musicians.
In a recent development, Dag Heward Mills who was seen preaching to his congregation in his recent visit to Sierra Leone has dared critics who threatened to slap him to do their worst.
Citing an example from the bible while preaching, Dag Heward-Mills noted that it is wrong for any individual to touch an anointed man of God.
“Come and slap me and see if there is oil on your hand… You are finished if you slap the anointing because the holy spirit is not like Jesus who would tolerate all of these things. If you like go and touch on his anointed,” he said.
Bishop Dag Heward Mills further noted that it is only a “fool” who would speak against a man of God.
“Come and strike me because you don’t like my preaching and you would see what would become of you. You would not be dealing with a man but the holy spirit. God has chosen who he put his anointing on. He doesn’t put his anointing on everyone… You open your mouth and speak like a fool against someone who is anointed,” he added.

One would recall that Bishop Dag Heward-Mills in a viral video firmly stated that he does not believe in paying musicians who play instruments during church services.
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills’ comment sparked reactions from several netizens, including Bullgod, who strongly criticised the pastor.
Bullgod, while sharing his thoughts on the issue during the April 19, 2025, edition of United Showbiz, did not hold back in criticising the Bishop.
He described the Bishop’s comment as “nonsense,” arguing that there is nothing wrong with allocating a small portion of church offerings to support church workers.
“If his statement is a general one, then I am sorry to say that whatever he said was nonsense. Don’t they pay him every Sunday? We have all seen his progress from where he started his church to where he is now. So what is wrong with him giving a small portion of the fortune he has to his church people for their work?” he quizzed.
