Rapper Kofi Mole has signaled a renewed desire to return to church, inspired by a new release from rapper-turned-evangelist Yaw Siki.

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, Mole reacted to a post on X showing Yaw Siki performing his latest song, None Like You.

The track delivered with the same sharp cadence and rhyme skill that made Siki a standout in his Hiplife days underscored how, despite leaving secular music and its accompanying hedonism for ministry, his musical brilliance remained intact.

Deeply moved, Kofi Mole revealed that he had been absent from church for nearly two decades, but Yaw Siki’s transformation and talent might just be what breaks that streak. He ended his post with a prayer for Siki’s continued blessing.

“It’s been 18 years since I last went to church. If I ever resume, it would be because of you. God bless you, King!” the Nirvana hitmaker wrote in Pidgin.

Siki’s response was, “Thank God you have resumed [prayer/thankful emoji].”

Yaw Siki rose to prominence in Hiplife as a gifted storyteller and lyricist, with Wope Dodo (2009) being among several hits in his brief but memorable run.

During the era when Tema rappers dominated Ghana’s music scene, Siki was hailed as one of the most promising talents — until a devastating accident in April 2013 abruptly halted his rise.

After making a full recovery in 2016, Siki chose a radical new path: he abandoned all financial gains from his music, rejected bookings, and even urged DJs to stop playing his old songs, saying they promoted immorality and no longer aligned with his values.

In a 2025 interview with TV3, he shared that he had spent the past decade deepening his Christian faith and spreading the Gospel on the streets and in commercial vehicles.

Only recently has Yaw Siki returned to releasing music this time exclusively Gospel yet still showcasing the unmistakable artistry that once made crowds dance. Today, instead of fuelling party and nightlife energy, his lyrics challenge vice and promote Christian living.
