Leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel, JY Adu, who doubles as a close associate of the late gospel legend Yaw Sarpong, has made some statements that have got netizens talking.

In a recent interview, he revealed that one of the situations that put the late musician through pain was when his wife sought to address their marital issues through Auntie Naa on Oyerepa TV.

“He was well until they took us to Oyerepa and said so much about us; the things that were said there are what have affected him till now. They thought they were just talking, but what they said was spirit and life, the life of a person. And Yaw Sarpong did not like the things that were said there,” JY Adu said.

JY Adu stated that before the incident, Yaw Sarpong was showing good health progress and was even able to sing and play other instruments at church. However, he added that the musician’s condition worsened afterward.

“He was really affected by the issue; it hit him like a memory loss. From time to time, he would come to the realization but would lose himself again,” he added.

What Yaw Sarpong’s wife said when she met Auntie Naa

Yaw Sarpong’s wife disclosed that she faced mistreatment from her husband’s family during his illness.

She explained that she initially cared for him at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), but circumstances changed, leaving her sidelined.

She said her husband requested that she stop caring for him as he was to be moved to a pastor’s place for treatment, a decision she disagreed with.

She said when she visited later, she found Maame Tiwaa attending to him, which left her upset.

In an interview with Auntie Naa on Oyerepa FM, she said the family had barred her from providing care.

“I’ve been with my husband for 40 years. I was his caregiver at Komfo Anokye Hospital when his illness started. At one point, he told me to stay home and pray for him, as his sister would take him to a pastor’s place for treatment.

“Unhappy with this, I visited him after four days, only to find Maame Tiwaa taking care of him, leading to frustration. His sisters, particularly one abroad, accused me of misusing his funds. My visits are met with hostility from his sisters, who prevent me from seeing him,” she claimed
