Ghanaian comic actor and football executive Yaw Dabo is seeking GH¢1 million in damages in a defamation lawsuit against his colleague Oboy Siki at the Adum High Court in Kumasi.

The suit stems from a series of alleged defamatory statements Oboy Siki made about Yaw Dabo’s personal life and football management activities.

Dabo argues that the statements have damaged his reputation and public image.

It is alleged that Oboy Siki made insulting comments that Yaw Dabo is incapable of impregnating a woman.

He is also accused of describing the actor as selfish and “not man enough” to marry.

Also, the suit references statements allegedly made about Dabo’s competence in football management.

When the case was called at the Kumasi High Court on February 23, 2026, counsel for Yaw Dabo, Lawyer Diana, addressed the court and the media on the progress of the case.

She explained that after the writ of summons was served, the defendants failed to enter an appearance or file a defence.

“Defamation action is not imprisonment or a penalty. When we served them the writ of summons, they did not enter an appearance. They did not inform the court that they had been served, and they did not bring their defence,” she said.

Lawyer Diana shared that after consulting her client, Dabo insisted on pursuing the matter, prompting them to file an application for the court to proceed with the case.

However, during the latest court appearance, the application was withdrawn following a proposal for an amicable settlement.

“Today, when we came to court, the application we filed for the matter to proceed had to be withdrawn. The defendant’s lawyer and GHPage’s lawyer suggested that we should resolve the matter calmly, so we withdrew the case from court. That is what the court has granted,” she explained.

She further indicated that both parties will engage in discussions before returning to court.

“We will return to court, but we are giving them some time. Whatever they come up with and whatever Yaw Dabo decides, that is what we will rely on in court the next time we appear,” she added.
