A woman died after she tripped over rocks at a seafront beauty spot in Lowesoft.

Saffron Cole-Nottage, 32, died in front of rescuers on Sunday night after tripping over and falling onto rocks on the beach at Lowestoft.

She is understood to have drowned after getting trapped in the boulders along the seawall. 

Flowers were left near the scene with tributes to the young mum.

One described her as ‘beautiful’ and added she would be ‘forever missed’.

Another said: ‘Your lights shined bright down here and you’ll shine bright up there too – forever 32.’ 

One tribute said: ‘My beautiful mummy, I love you the world.’

A large emergency presence responded including police, coastguards, paramedics and an air ambulance.

Messages left as a tribute to Saffron Cole-Nottage

More heartbreaking messages were written on a card on the seafront.

One wrote: ‘My darling Saff.

‘What can I really say, there are no words to express how much we will miss you.

‘The world is so cruel and to take you in this freak horrific way will not sit well with me for the rest of my life.

‘You will be forever missed by so many and I’m really not sure I’ll ever be the same without you.

‘Me and the kids will love you and never forget you, until we meet again.’ 

Another said: ‘I never really told you how much I love you and how much you will be missed. I thank you for everything you have done for me.’ 

A police spokesperson said: ‘Suffolk Constabulary was called at around 8.03pm on Sunday night, by the ambulance service, to an incident on the coast off The Esplanade in the town.

‘A woman, aged in her 30s, sadly died at the scene.’ 

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but officers do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

A file is now being completed for the coroner. 

People took to social media to share tributes. One said: ‘RIP darling you will be missed so dearly, such an awful tragedy.’

Another said: ‘rest in paradise Saff’ with family sympathies shared and love expressed to a ‘beautiful, amazing lady.’

One said: ‘My beautiful bestie forever 32 the light to my everything I will miss u forever and always – the pain hurts so much, love you Saffron Cole-Nottage.’
