It is high time for Ghanaians to wake up and smell the coffee regarding the Danquah-Busia tradition. We must decide to never give them a chance to rule Ghana again. Akufo-Addo should be the last leader from the NPP to ever govern this country, as he has taken Ghana from its glory days to a point where millions are left begging for just one meal before nightfall.

If incompetence were their only shortcoming, it wouldn’t be such a bother. However, nepotism, the looting of public funds, and the misuse of taxpayers’ money to build houses for rental or sale to Ghanaians is what truly breaks my heart as a political activist. Once upon a time, a leader of the United Party, a faction of the Danquah-Busia tradition, introduced a very corrupt gentleman named Adu Boahen. Ghana is fortunate that we never had him as president. His sons, under Akufo-Addo, have found ways to line their pockets with money that their father had planned to misappropriate. One of them has reportedly stolen funds to buy about 36 houses, some of which are now being rented out. Akufo-Addo’s daughters were also caught in the ambulance scandal that had the nation buzzing; one now owns one of the biggest restaurants in the country, perhaps because she’s been handed the keys to the kingdom.

In stark contrast, no child of an NDC former president has ever been accused of stealing from Ghana. The children of former presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills, and John Mahama have all worked or are working in decent jobs and are not embroiled in corruption.

So, I urge every Ghanaian not to touch the NPP with a bargepole. They are a tradition of individuals who seem more interested in looting and sharing than in the welfare of the people. The NDC has, without a shadow of a doubt, shown that they are a political party that genuinely cares for Ghanaians and won’t pull the wool over our eyes.

Dear Ghanaian voter, I implore you to wipe the NPP from your mind, for they have never meant well for our nation, and all they do is steal from the country.
