Ghanaian music duo, Lali X Lola, have made it clear that winning an award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) is not their main focus.

Speaking on the red carpet in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie, the twin sisters nominated in the Best New Artiste category shared that for them, just being recognised is already a big win.

“Whether we win or not, we honestly don’t care. Even being acknowledged is a plus for us,” they said.

Lali X Lola, known for their consistent presence at major entertainment events across the country, also touched on why they make it a point to always show up.

According to them, it’s a deliberate move to stay relevant and build their brand.

“I mean, that’s the whole point, to be consistent, to show up. That’s our plan, that’s our strategy, and we stick to it,” they explained.

They also spoke about their recent decision to part ways with their signature red hair.

Addressing it, they revealed that the change was symbolic and tied to a message of unity in the industry.

“We released a statement about it because we wanted people to focus on the message. It was about not choosing between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. We love them both, and we think the industry should stop pitting artists against each other,” they added.
