Acclaimed Ghanaian dancehall musician Samini has shared his reasons for recruiting his former mentees, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, and Kaakie, on his new album titled ORIGIN8A.

In an interview on 3Music Network, shared on X on February 13, 2026, the dancehall musician noted that his decision to feature these individuals is to tell a story about how he has significantly contributed to the music industry.

“Yes! It all comes together so you understand the story of where we are coming from,” he said.

He further explained that his reason for titling his 18-track album ORIGIN8A is to remind music lovers of how he has remained consistent in the industry while also introducing new talents.

“History has to know that we do things, and then people come, and they have to learn. So when you get the chance to reaffirm and renounce whatever it is, you have to make sure you do it in the right manner.

“So, this being my eighth album, I thought I’d remind those who just know me, and those who have recently gotten to know me, that it’s been a long time coming. I’m an originator of something that’s here, and it has come to stay,” he added.
