Prior to becoming a fashion icon known for his bold styles and statements, Richard Brown, aka Osebo the Zaraman, shared his high school experiences, including how he paved a path in school that made him popular.

During an appearance on Joy News, Osebo recounted his days as a student at Awuku Darko Senior Secondary School in Suhum, where his regular habit of preaching to his colleagues earned him the nickname “Osofo” from his own headmaster.

“When I started school, the headmaster used to call me ‘Osofu,’ because I was always preaching,” he stated.

He said he was a regular part of school gatherings, especially on Wednesdays, when he would often be invited to share the word of God with students and staff.

“Every Wednesday, when the school gathered, I would be the one invited to share the word of God. I was always with my Bible, and anytime I had free moments, I would read it,” he revealed.

Osebo explained that this strong biblical foundation was laid at home, adding that he was raised in a solid Christian environment.

“I grew up in a Christian home. My mother lived like a pastor’s wife, and my father was a pastor. So everything around me was church, church, church. It was a Zama Disco Church,” he said.

While many now see him primarily as a fashion figure, Osebo emphasized that his school days were deeply rooted in faith.

His confidence, discipline, and devotion eventually led him to secure the position of Senior Boys’ Prefect at his school.

He asserted that the early experiences of preaching instilled in him a sense of discipline and confidence that continues to shape both his personal life and his thriving career in the spotlight.
