The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has declared an enclave within Borteyman, widely known as Nmai Djor-Trasacco, a security zone and ordered the suspension of all development activities in the area.

The announcement was made by the Regional Minister and REGSEC Chairperson, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, during a media briefing on Friday, January 30, 2026.

According to her, the declaration is part of REGSEC’s broader framework to ensure public safety and maintain law and order following ongoing disputes over land ownership between traditional authorities and family interests in the enclave, which falls within the Adentan West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

“Intelligence available to REGSEC indicates ongoing disputes over land ownership between traditional authorities and family interests in the area. This situation has the potential to escalate if not properly managed.

“To ensure peace and maintain law and order, I wish to inform you that the enclave has been declared a security zone with immediate effect. All developmental activities in the area are to stop until further notice, pending the final decision of the courts,” she said.

Linda Ocloo further warned that any individual or organization that flouts the directive would face strict sanctions.

“Any individual or entity that violates this directive and continues with development activities shall be liable to appropriate enforcement action, including demolition of such structures,” she cautioned.
