Lamine Yamal was ridiculed after Barcelona lost to Real Madrid
Youngster Lamine Yamal was at the center of mockery after FC Barcelona’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Los Blancos took the lead with a brilliant strike from Kylian Mbappé and continued creating chances throughout the first half but were unable to convert them.
Barcelona, with limited opportunities up front, got the equaliser through Fermín López in the final minutes of the first half.

English superstar Jude Bellingham rose to the occasion and scored the winner, ending Madrid’s losing streak against their arch-rivals with a 2-1 victory in the El Clasico.
However, after the match, Lamine Yamal began trending on social media as football fans ridiculed his underwhelming performance, which they believed contributed to Barcelona’s defeat.
Some criticised him for making disrespectful remarks about Real Madrid before the game, accusing the club of engaging in robbery and cheating to win matches.
His Instagram posts prior to the match, which took a dig at Los Blancos, were also heavily mocked, with fans advising him to stay humble and avoid provoking opponents before games.
Despite the hype, Yamal delivered a poor performance, recording no shots on target and losing possession more than 20 times during the match.
Real Madrid right-back Álvaro Carreras marked the young winger intensively, effectively limiting his ability to create chances and score to help his team.
