Daddy Lumba [L] and Great Ampong Daddy Lumba [L] and Great Ampong

A Ghanaian American-based Theologian, Preacher and philanthropist, Archbishop Adonteng Boateng has revealed how he brokered peace between Gospel Musician Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong known widely as Great Ampong and Highlife Legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu affectionately called Daddy Lumba and later made Great Ampong apologized to the latter

During an interview on Kingdom FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Archbishop Adonteng Boateng disclosed that the Bible talks about apologizing when we offend one another hence it was important he led Great Ampong to apologize to Daddy Lumba.

“If I want Ampong to be lifted spiritually in the realms of the spirit, I will have to lead him to cleanse himself. Ampong spoke against the legendary musician Daddy Lumba.”

“So as a man of God, if I am to ordain Great Ampong and I don’t lead him to do the right thing by apologizing to the musician it’s not right. This is what Christianity is about,” He explained.

In 2015, gospel musician Great Ampong and highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu released a joint album titled ‘Hosanna’.

Ampong told Delay in an interview in 2016 that it was Daddy Lumba who called him and asked that they should do a music project together.

The album has eight (8) songs but Ampong claims he wrote 6 out of the 8 songs. Some of the songs on the album include ‘Father and Son’, ‘Hosanna’, and ‘Jesus is a Winner’.

The project had a great reception but things did not go well for Ampong. According to him, after the launch of the album, Lumba took the money they got from the programme home without giving him a pesewa.

Fast forward, to 2023, Great Ampong’s rendered an apology to Daddy Lumba over their past disagreements, aiming for a restoration of their relationship.

The apology elicited varied responses from the public, with some individuals alleging that Archbishop Adonteng pressured Great Ampong into rendering the apology.

However, in a recent interview, the Archbishop disclosed that he led Great Ampong to apologize to Daddy Lumba to cleanse him for his ordination.
