The President of the Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP), Kojo Preko Dankwa, has questioned why no Christian organisation has come out to publicly rebuke controversial televangelist Nana Agradaa for her “reckless” public attacks on gospel singer Empress Gifty and her husband, Hopeson Adorye.

In an interview on Onua TV, Dankwa condemned Agradaa’s accusations of promiscuity against Empress Gifty, warning that such statements could “collapse marriages” and harm mental health.

“Does she think Hopeson Adorye isn’t human with emotions? These claims are dangerous and could destroy their marriage and mental health,” he said.

He backed the couple’s decision to sue Agradaa for defamation, calling it a fight for their “marriage, brand, and reputation.”

“So in order for him and Empress Gifty to fight for their marriage, their brand and their reputation in society, they had to take her to court,” he said.

Dankwa questioned Agradaa’s behaviour and further called out Christian bodies for their silence on the matter.

“Look at the audacity, the disrespect that a ‘Woman of God’ is using to insult others on social media. I wonder how she is using the same mouth to preach in church and call the name of Jesus. This means there is a problem with preachers in this country.

“Are we saying that there is no Christian association to stand up and shut this lady up? Can’t they issue a statement to tell her that her actions are disgraceful?” he asked.

The clash escalated after Adorye criticised Agradaa for accepting a controversial $800 gift from Ghana Gold Board’s Sammy Gyamfi, which Agradaa deemed “disrespectful”.

She retaliated with social media insults, prompting Empress Gifty’s lawsuit. However, the televangelist has laughed off lawsuits and threatened countersuits.
