Charlyn Fosuh, daughter of the late Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba, has spoken out about why she removed herself from her mother’s application for letters of administration over her father’s estate.

On January 26, 2026, she officially filed a request with the Kumasi High Court to have her name taken off the case.

In a TikTok video, Charlyn addressed rumours suggesting that she had launched legal action against her mother, Akosua Serwaa, or their lawyer, William Kusi.

She called the claims false, clarifying that her only intention was to withdraw from the proceedings and that she had not filed a lawsuit against anyone involved.

Charlyn explained that her decision was influenced by personal commitments and the demands of the legal process, which she said would prevent her from fully representing her siblings in the estate matters.

“We went to court to take my name out of the letters of administration, and I want everyone to know I didn’t sue my mum or Lawyer William Kusi. The reason why I went to do that was I am entering a phase of my life, where I’m graduating law school soon and wouldn’t have the time to represent my siblings in the letters of administration. That’s why I have decided to take my name out,” she said.

This development follows reports on January 13, 2026, that Akosua Serwaa had filed for letters of administration to assume control of her late husband’s estate. The application, prepared by Lawyer William Kusi of Dominion Chambers, originally listed Akosua Serwaa, Charlyn Fosuh, and Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Fosu, as the applicants.
