During a recent appearance on The Sherri Shepherd Show, rapper-turned-television-producer 50 Cent touched on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ docuseries and explained why he had to omit some footage from the project.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, the four-part documentary, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, was released on Netflix on December 2. The project, produced by 50 Cent, lays out the “story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built — as well as the underworld that lay just beneath its surface,” per Netflix.

50 Cent explained to Shepherd that certain footage and commentary did not make the final cut because they wanted the documentary to highlight extensive legal and cultural matters, WBLS reported. 50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, also stated that the omissions were made because they were working with time.

He said the omitted portions included a coverage of Combs, 56, fathering a daughter with Sarah Chapman, who is deceased rapper 2Pac’s ex-girlfriend.

“He has a baby by a woman who was dating Tupac,” 50 Cent said. 2Pac and Chapman reportedly dated in the mid-1990s. In 2006, Combs and Chapman welcomed their daughter, Chance.

Despite the omission, 50 Cent implied that there could be an extended version of the documentary. “Everyone starts to feel a little more comfortable when they see other people telling their truth. So yeah, it’s got to be something on YouTube coming,” the Power star said.

50 Cent also indicated that there wasn’t sufficient space to include all the footage because the documentary had to be trimmed down to meet the four-episode goal.

“There was a lot of personal footage of Diddy that didn’t make the documentary,” he told Shepherd.

50 Cent did not provide more details on the 2Pac case and the amount of omitted footage that had to do with it. But he said he was sure the content presented in the documentary was accurate, irrespective of the cuts that were made, WBLS reported.

50 Cent and Combs have been at odds for many years, and the former has previously taken to social media to repeatedly troll the Bad Boy Records founder after he was arrested and later convicted of prostitution-related charges.

Following the release of the documentary, there have largely been divergent views about the project, particularly because it was produced by 50 Cent, who is Combs’ longtime rival.

But prior to the release of the project, 50 Cent, in an interview with Gayle King for Good Morning America, claimed that his documentary about Combs’ downfall wasn’t “personal.” The 50-year-old made those comments when he was asked about the backlash that came his way for producing the project. The backlash largely stemmed from his feud with Combs.

“What they’re considering a preexisting beef, for twenty years… [It’s me being uncomfortable with him suggesting that he takes me shopping,” 50 Cent explained. “It was like a tester. Like, ‘Maybe you’ll come play with me.’ And… It’s not personal.”
