Gospel musicians, Broda Sammy and Edward Akwasi Boateng, have caused a stir on social media after Sammy initially became a center of discussion during the one-week observation of the late Daddy Lumba.
In a video making waves on social media on October 7, 2025, Broda Sammy and veteran gospel musician Akwasi Boateng engaged in a heated altercation during a live program when the latter phoned in to offer a word of advice to Sammy regarding controversies surrounding his music.
During the program, Edward Akwasi noted that Broda Sammy should refrain from twisting the word of God.
He also added that Sammy should stop chasing clout by using the well-endowed lady, who performed at the late Lumba’s one-week observation.
“I want to tell Sammy that he is embarrassing us. It is written in the bible that a repented person is a new creature, so if you give your life to Christ, there is no way you should behave like a worldly person.
“It is written in the bible that money is the root of all evil… If you don’t shut up, you will see what will happen to you in this country,” he said.
While making his submission, Broda Sammy, who was displeased by the veteran gospel musician’s statement, clapped back at him.
According to Broda Sammy, the “Adea Mepe” singer has no right to counsel him.
He emphasised that Edward Akwasi Boateng should be mindful of how he talks to him, adding that he would not tolerate any form of insults under the guise of advice.

“You people hate the truth. God has given you a second chance, and through that, the Prophet Bernard Elbernard gifted you a car… I understand that money is the root of all evil, but I am also motivating people that money answers all things.
“The life you lived in those is not relevant today… Watch how you talk to me next time. Don’t attack… Who are you? You don’t like the truth,” Broda Sammy noted.
