Veteran Ghanaian rapper Obrafour has talked about his relationship with Sarkodie, sharing why the Sarkcess Music boss’ public show of reverence often leaves him uncomfortable rather than flattered.

In a video shared on TikTok, the respected lyricist addressed the frequent moments when Sarkodie credits him as a key influence. Obrafour acknowledged playing a role early on but said the level of praise and humility directed at him feels excessive.

He pointed to Sarkodie’s stature as one of the most dominant forces in Ghanaian music and recalled their early creative intersection, including the track “Saa Okodie No,” which helped introduce the rapper to a wider audience. Despite that history, Obrafour maintained that Sarkodie owes him far less than the public gestures suggest.

“Sarkodie is huge but anytime he sees me and wants to kneel before me, it sometimes embarrasses me. I ask myself, who am I for Sarkodie to lie on the floor for me?” he said.

According to Obrafour, the admiration should be redirected away from any individual and toward God, whom he believes orchestrated Sarkodie’s success far beyond human effort.

Looking back on their first meeting, he said Sarkodie’s promise was evident from the start, but insisted that divine purpose, not mentorship alone, shaped the rapper’s rise.

“If I had it my way, I would channel that respect to the Maker. When I first met him, I told him who he was and what God was going to do with him,” he further stated.
