Tomi Thomas and Efya got married on February 14, 2026 Tomi Thomas and Efya got married on February 14, 2026

On February 15, 2026, Ghanaians online were left in shock after videos and pictures surfaced showing renowned Ghanaian songstress Efya tying the knot with Nigerian singer Tomi Thomas on February 14.

The wedding came as a surprise, as their relationship had been kept private and there had been no prior indication of the ceremony.

While congratulations are in order, many are now asking: Who is Tomi Thomas?

Here are some facts about Tomi Thomas

    Background and upbringing

Tomi Thomas was born in Nigeria on November 9, 1992, and is aged 33. He is a singer, songwriter, and producer.

Although music is not known about his personal life, he is believed to have lived and studied in Lagos, Nigeria, and the United States.

His passion for music began at the age of four during a birthday party for his grandmother.

“I had to do something, so I just started performing for the family, and everybody loved it. That’s how my musical journey started,” he recalled in an interview with the iMullar website.

He continued his dream in school, where he took up drumming and joined the drama club.

    Music journey

His love for music then carried on to high school, where he joined a music group called “Castey Republic”.

In 2008, he became a professional musician after he recorded with popular Nigerian sound engineer Ikon at his “Red Room Studio.”

Fresh out of high school, he then joined another musical group called L.O.S (Loud on Sound), which was active from 2010 to 2014.

The group released several popular singles, including “On Fire”, and “Wish You Could Stay.’

    Solo career

After L.O.S., Tomi decided to pursue a solo career while he was in Dubai for University.

Tomi started one of the first independent distribution companies in the UAE called “Urban Mass”, where he distributed his own music along with other artistes.

That was where he released his debut EP, “Patience,” and his hit single, “Ready or Not.”

He returned to Nigeria after university and emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic with collaborations with various musicians across Africa and the world.

    Ties to Ghana

In 2013, LOS released “Bad Guy P”, featuring Nigerian singer Banky W and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie. The song went on to be a hit across both countries.

In 2021, Tomi Thomas had his first performance in the United Kingdom when he joined Afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy on his Anloga Junction UK Tour.

“I was at home in Nigeria; my manager, Anthony, called me and said he had spoken to my international manager, David, and they were like, ‘Stonebwoy is going on tour.’ I was like, ‘I’m gonna come.’

“Two weeks later, I touched down and called up Stonebwoy; he said, ‘pull up’. We got on the tour bus, went to Manchester, and we did it; it was madness. We got on the bus again, went to Birmingham, and did it again,” he said in an interview with Adesope Olajide in 2021.

He further stated that he would appear on stage in Ghana for the first time at Stonebwoy’s BHIM Concert in Accra. But he could not show up.

Fast forward to 2026: Tomi Thomas is now in the spotlight after marrying Ghanaian musician Efya (Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, age 38).

The Valentine’s Day ceremony drew appearances from celebrities, including King Promise and Hajia4Reall, making it one of the most talked-about events of the year.
