Samuel Nartey George is Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has expressed appreciation to DStv Ghana and its subscribers following the announcement of a revised package structure set to take effect from October 1, 2025.

The move comes after a meeting between the government and MultiChoice Ghana, the operators of DStv, aimed at reducing subscription costs and increasing affordability for subscribers.

In a post shared on his X page on Monday, September 29, 2025, the minister described the new arrangement as a win for both the company and its subscribers, emphasising that it reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring better value for consumers in the digital and broadcasting space.

“Thanks for your patience, Ghana. Thanks for your cooperation, DStv Ghana and DStv; we have all won, together. For God and Country,” he wrote.

His comments follow the announcement of the new subscription plan, highlighting the additional value DStv subscribers will enjoy.

“For those on the Padii subscription, you currently pay GH¢59. With this payment, you automatically gain access to the Second Bouquet, valued at GH¢99, along with 35 additional channels. This represents a 40 percent savings compared to paying for the access separately,” he explained.
