Following the shocking passing of Ghanaian innovator and entrepreneur Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka on September 11, 2025, conversations have sparked about who will take over the leadership of his business empire.

Reports have already begun circulating about possible rivalry among his children, particularly regarding succession.

However, almost exactly a year ago, one of his sons, Kwadwo Safo Jnr., CEO of Kantanka Mobile, spoke about this very topic during an appearance on the Konnected Minds Podcast.

He discussed his relationship with his siblings and shared his thoughts on the future leadership of the empire in the event of their father’s absence.

The question about whether there is sibling rivalry between him and his siblings popped up in an interview and Kwadwo Safo Jr. stated that, as human beings, such situations are bound to occur.

In an interview with the Konnected Minds Podcast, Nana Kwadwo Safo Kantanka Jnr., who has stepped into his father’s footsteps as the CEO of Kantanka Automobile, has emphasised that the ultimate respect goes to his father and that’s what matters most.

“With us, my father is the supremo. We give all the respect and love to him. Nobody wants to do anything to hurt him, but we’re human beings, so, yes,” he replied when asked about the existence of sibling rivalry.

Kwadwo Safo Jnr was also asked whether such a situation would worsen when his father is no longer around, and he stressed the importance of “the one with the vision” appointing a successor while still alive.

“The only way for African empires to grow is once the person that has the vision is getting old; he needs to appoint somebody else while he is still strong and alive to control things in his guidance,” he added.

Nana Safo Kantanka is the fifth-born of his father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

Notable among his siblings is the current Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
