The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has questioned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its decision to respond to the Black Stars budget for the game against Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The sports ministry revealed the Black Stars budget to the public, detailing the amount presented by the GFA and what was approved, with some amounts slashed and others entirely removed.
In response, the GFA stated that it would release a comprehensive statement to make clarifications on the budget, as it is focused on preparing the team for the game against Chad.
However, Kofi Adams has condemned the statement, noting that there is no need for the GFA to provide a response to Ghanaians to explain the issues.

The Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency stated that the estimate the GFA presented and the approved one was what he made public, questioning the GFA’s intent with their notice.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Kofi Adams said he is ready for the GFA’s statement on the matter.
“It’s not everything that sometimes you get up and you want to respond, because you don’t have any case to respond to. When you presented an estimate, it went through a process, and the approval has been given, and it’s that approval we’re working with.
“So I don’t know what it is that they want to respond to. We’ll wait for them, since you say they would respond. But who is communicating this? There should be a person; is there no human being there who can put their name to it? What is the Communications Department?” he questioned.
