Wendy Shay has expressed deep gratitude to Shatta Wale for being the only person who stood by her when many in the music industry doubted her talent.

Speaking on the stage during Shatta Wale’s Shatta Fest concert on October 18, 2025, the Ghanaian songstress reflected on her early struggles in the industry, revealing that she faced skepticism from nearly everyone when she began her career.

She explained that while most industry players dismissed her ambitions, it was Shatta Wale who encouraged her and spoke words of faith over her journey.

“Many people doubted I would succeed in the music industry, including radio presenters, pundits, and Twitter boys who said Wendy Shay won’t make it. But then, I met one man, a prophet.

“His name is Prophet Shatta Wale, and he prophesied over my life. And now I am the boss,” Wendy Shay stated.

The night featured a vibrant lineup of performances from top artistes, including Sarkodie, Samini, Tinny, Kelvynboy, Jupita, and others who joined in celebrating Shatta Wale’s milestone with electrifying energy.
