Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has officially lodged a complaint with the Ghana Police Service after a viral video surfaced, accusing her of engaging in lesbianism.

The video featured a young man alleging that the “Too Late” singer was involved in a sexual relationship with Tracy Shay, the young girl she ‘adopted’ after she went viral for dancing to her song. The man went on to make insulting claims, stating that Wendy Shay had been instructed by a supposed spiritualist to l*ck the young girl.

After seeing the video, Wendy Shay appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the man behind the accusations, offering a GHS 5,000 reward to anyone who could help her locate him.

In a statement posted online, she confirmed that the issue had been reported to the police. According to the statement, the individual responsible for the allegations is currently in the United Arab Emirates.

“In the last few days, I became aware of a false and very hurtful video circulating online about me. I want to assure everyone, my fans, my family, and the general public that the allegations in that video are completely untrue and were created with malicious intent.

The matter has been formally reported to the Ghana Police Service, and active investigations are underway. I have been informed that the individual behind the account has been traced to the United Arab Emirates, where he is currently working with a construction company. Further steps are being taken through the appropriate channels to ensure he is held accountable for his actions.

I am cooperating fully with the police, and I trust the investigation process to bring this matter to a swift and just resolution, I further encourage us all to continue standing against cyberbullying, online harassment, and malicious attacks on innocent people,” the statement read.
