Ghanaian music duo Keche have stated that they were disappointed after missing out on the ‘Group of the Year’ award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Keche said they felt robbed of the award, especially because they were instrumental in advocating for the return of the group category after it had been scrapped from the awards scheme in previous editions.

Keche criticized Team Eternity, who won the award with their hit song ‘Defe Defe,’ claiming that the song was not an original composition but rather a copy of someone else’s work, and therefore should not have qualified.
They further questioned Team Eternity’s commitment to the awards, pointing out that they did not even promote their nomination by sharing the official TGMA flyer and were also absent from the ceremony on the night they were crowned winners.
“They gave the award to Team Eternity, who don’t even have a song of their own; the song they usually perform is not original but stolen from someone else. We brought a huge song, Kiss, and advocated for this category to return, yet they overlooked us for the award. I was so disappointed. Team Eternity didn’t even post a flyer or show up at the event,” Keche said.
