On Saturday, July 26, 2025, for the tenth consecutive time, the Nigerian Women’s National Football Team, the Super Falcons, won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), making Nigerians proud.

Playing against the Moroccan women’s national team, the Atlas Lionesses, the Super Falcons emerged victorious despite being at a disadvantage in the first leg of the match, winning 3 -2.

Rasheedat Ajibade, captain of the Super Falcons, took to X (Twitter) to celebrate their 10th WAFCON win, which was their self-appointed “mission X”.

She gave glory to God thanked her teammates all their fans, and everyone who supported them through their journey.

She wrote;

“We did it! Mission X accomplished! Words can’t fully express what this moment means. This isn’t just our 10th WAFCON trophy, it’s a testament to the relentless spirit of this team. Every tackle, every pass, every moment of pure grit on that field was for each other, for our country, and for every single one of you who believed in us.

To the fans: you are our 12th player. Your cheers from home and abroad echoed in our hearts and pushed us to the very end. Thank you for your unwavering support.

To my sisters, my teammates, I’m so incredibly proud of every one of you. We did it together against all odds.

To the young girls with dreams in their eyes: this is for you. Hold on to your passion. Work hard. Your time is coming. Believe in yourself, and know that anything is possible.

Forever grateful to the Most High GOD. Forever champions.”

The post,

Their victory shows the absolute dominance of the Nigerian Women’s Team in Football, a stark contrast to their male counterparts, the Super Eagles, whose AFCON win was in 2013.

Many Nigerians have called for better support for the Super Falcons, seeing as they have continued to make their nation proud, year after year.
