Ghanaian disc jockey and member of the Akwaaba UK group, DJ Mensah, has stated that the group will not step aside for dancehall musician Stonebwoy to organise his upcoming album tour in the UK on the 8th March.

In an interview on Hitz FM on February 20, 2025, DJ Mensah emphasised that the Akwaaba group has no intention of sabotaging Stonebwoy’s concert.

However, they are not willing to change the date of their own event.

He reiterated that Akwaaba UK has been organising a concert every Independence Day and, as such, will not alter the scheduled date for their event.

“I am speaking for Akwaaba, and even as DJ Mensah, who works with Akwaaba, I just want to make things clear that we are not here to sabotage anybody. The event is going to happen, and we are not stepping down for anybody,” he said.

He also mentioned that the group is open to collaborating with Stonebwoy on future shows.

“Our doors are now open to talk about next year and Party in the Park. If you flashback, you will notice that we have been pushing Ghanaian music for the past 20 years,” he added.

His comments come in response to a recent allegation by Stonebwoy’s manager, Chief Stylz, that the Akwaaba UK team and Alordia are planning to “sabotage” the musician’s album tour in the UK.
