Black Stars head coach Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed his satisfaction with Ghana’s current position in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

After defeating Madagascar 3-0 in Morocco, Addo praised his team’s exceptional work ethic, solid defense, and decisive execution of set pieces.

Thomas Partey’s brace and Mohammed Kudus’ goal secured Ghana’s second win in as many matches, establishing a five-point lead atop the Group I standings.

Captain Jordan Ayew also made history with a hat-trick of assists, leading the African continent in World Cup qualification assists.

Addo acknowledged that there is still much work to be done but expressed his happiness with Ghana’s current standing.

“The work ethic today was exceptional… There is still a lot of work to do, but I think we are happy to be in a good position.”

Ghana aims to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time.
