While members of the WBC board and many of the office staff have begun arriving in Bangkok, Thailand for the 63rd annual WBC convention in “The Land Of Smiles,” delegates are beginning their travel preparations for, in many cases, the long journey to Southeast Asia for the week-long conference. There will be meetings among the regional bodies (NABF, ABCO, etc.), the medical committee, ratings, mandatory defenses, the annual awards banquet and a boxing and Muy Thai show, including the WBC Light Flyweight title fight between champion Carlos Cañizales and former WBA Minimumweight champ, Thammanoon Niyomtrong (Knockout CP Freshmart). Several current and former champions are scheduled to attend as well, including Julio Cesar Chavez, Erik Morales, Jose Luis Castillo, Mickey Ward, Oleksandr Usyk, Michael Moorer, Conor Benn, Terence Crawford, Katie Taylor, Amir Khan, La Barbi & Lulu Juarez.
