The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Sunyani Technical University (STU) has issued a statement against WatsUp TV, demanding a full refund of all monies paid to them for contract they signed ahead of their 2025 SRC week celebration.

The statement released also disclosed that they are pursuing legal action against WhatsUp TV for a clear breach of contract they signed.

In a press statement, the SRC disclosed that WatsUp TV had failed to honor its contractual obligation to provide a headline artiste for the much-anticipated Artiste Night segment of the SRC Week.

They added that according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), WatsUp TV was to deliver a top artiste such as Medikal, Kwesi Arthur, or Kweku Smoke alongside other supporting performers.

However, the media and entertainment company failed to meet this commitment, leaving students and the wider university community highly disappointed.

“The SRC reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the prudent use of student funds. We assure all students and stakeholders that every effort is being made to safeguard their interests and to ensure that such breaches do not recur in future engagements,” the statement read.

The SRC has also called on the media and the general public to support its cause in ensuring fairness and justice in this matter.
