Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey produced another decent performance in their 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

The Ghanaian returned to the starting eleven after being rested in their 0-0 game against Nottingham Forest on February 26, 2025.

Partey was impressive, holding the team together in the lone six role and ensuring that Arsenal enjoyed some great success.

The Ghanaian was, however, at fault for the goal Arsenal conceded, as his clumsy challenge led to the penalty that was converted by PSV’s Noa Lang.

At the time when Arsenal was leading 3-0, Thomas Partey‘s challenge during a corner in the 43rd minute gave PSV hope of a comeback.

However, Arsenal quickly dashed any hopes of a comeback after returning to the second half with an emphatic performance.

The Gunners’ explosive start to the second half saw Martin Odegaard (brace), Leandro Trossard, and Ricardo Calafiori add to the first-half goals scored by Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice, and Mikel Merino.

With a six-goal advantage from the first leg, Arsenal has a foot in the next round of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face the winner of the fixture between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The first leg ended 2-1 in favor of Madrid.

In spite of the minor error, Mikel Arteta would be excited with the performance of Thomas Partey and will most likely start him in Arsenal’s game against Manchester United on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Meanwhile, Partey has been rumored to be on his way out of the club as he stalls on a year contract extension offer.

Reports indicate that Partey is considering joining either PSG, Juventus, or Barcelona, who are all said to be interested in his services.
