Ronaldo (M) talking to the goalkeeper

Cristiano Ronaldo may not have found the back of the net on Sunday, September 14, 2025, but his leadership once again stole the spotlight in Al Nassr’s 2-0 victory.

The defining moment came in the 89th minute, when a penalty was awarded against the Riyadh giants. With the score at 2-0 after goals from Sadio Mané and Iñigo Martínez, the visitors looked set to be denied a clean sheet.

As tension gripped the stadium, Ronaldo took it upon himself to rally his goalkeeper, Raghed Al Najjar. Cameras caught the Portuguese legend speaking firmly and encouragingly to his teammate, urging him to stay focused.

It was a glimpse of Ronaldo’s enduring influence, an ability to inspire under pressure.

Moments later, Myziane Maolida stepped up to take the spot kick. The hush in the air broke into a roar as Al Najjar dived brilliantly to his right to keep the ball out.

His save preserved Al Nassr’s clean sheet, but much of the credit went to Ronaldo’s timely intervention, which seemed to sharpen his keeper’s resolve.

Though Ronaldo didn’t score on the night, his impact was undeniable. From guiding his teammates to lifting spirits, he once again proved that leadership goes beyond goals and assists.
