Prophet Eric Boahen-Uche, the founder of Reign House Chapel International, on January 12, 2025, prophesied about the resignation of certain world leaders, including presidents.

During his prophecy, he called for prayers for these presidents, foreseeing that they would vacate their positions due to certain circumstances.

“We should also pray against presidents who will resign from their seats, that they won’t sit on their presidential seats any longer but would resign from their jobs,” he said.

Barely two months after his prophecy, Klaus Iohannis resigned as the President of Romania.

Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis resigned, a day before he was set to face an impeachment vote sparked by the cancellation of the country’s presidential election last year.

Opponents had been pushing to suspend him over his decision to remain in office until a new vote in May.

Romania’s top court controversially annulled the election in December due to allegations of Russian state meddling, which Iohannis had helped bring to light.

The centrist, pro-EU leader cited national security concerns, but critics and candidates in the poll argued that his actions were undemocratic.

Just 48 hours before Romanians were due to vote in the presidential run-off election in December, the nation’s constitutional court made an unprecedented ruling, scrapping the entire process.

That left the country without an incoming president. Iohannis, who has served two terms since 2014, chose to stay in office until his successor could be elected.

However, his role in the cancellation of the election and his reluctance to lead the country decisively since then led to a groundswell of popular anger.

Tens of thousands of Romanians have taken to the streets in protest, and lawmakers were set to begin a parliamentary process this week to suspend him from office.

Iohannis had stated that his decision to remain in office was an attempt to provide political continuity.

Romania’s constitution stipulates that a presidential term is five years but also states that the president should remain in office until their successor takes over. However, opposition lawmakers argued that his extended term was illegal, as the constitution allows a presidency to be extended only in the event of war or a “catastrophe.”

On Monday, February 10, 2025, Iohannis bowed to the pressure, stepping down to limit the fallout of what he described as a divisive and damaging vote for the nation.
