Asante Kotoko overcame a tough challenge from Bibiani Gold Stars to win the 2025 Champion of Champions trophy at Dunn’s Park on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Gold Stars started the game on a strong note, attacking Kotoko from all fronts in the hope of getting an early lead, but they couldn’t take their chances.

Appiah McCarthy came close to scoring the opener with a free-kick, but crucial saves from Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara denied him the opportunity.

The Bibiani-based club kept piling pressure on the MTN FA Cup winners but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Porcupine Warriors returned from the break with renewed energy and turned the heat on their opponents.

With persistent pressure, Kotoko got the breakthrough when Musah Hamzah delivered a precise finish into the bottom corner after a cross from Seth Kwadwo.

The goal separated the two sides at the end of the ninety minutes, with Kotoko being crowned the Champion of Champions for the 2024/2025 season.
