On Saturday, January 18, 2025, gospel musician, Empress Gifty, laid her mother, Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, popularly known as ‘Agaga,’ to rest.

During the burial ceremony on Saturday, the musician, drenched in sorrow, couldn’t control her tears.

But the picture was quite different the following day, when Empress Gifty joined others, clad in an all-white outfit, dancing in praises, to mark a thanksgiving ceremony in honour of her late mother, as was shared on social media on January 19, 2025.

The husband of the musician, Hopeson Adorye, who was also dressed in a white outfit, also joined his wife on the dance floor.

He was also seen spraying GHc50 notes on her, as others joined in the thanksgiving ceremony.

Fellow industry colleagues such as ACP Kofi Sarpong, Stacy Amoateng, and many others joined the dance floor to also engage the musician.

Agaga, born in 1954, was a well-known actress and appeared in numerous TV commercials.

Despite her age, she was known for her outspoken and bubbly personality.

The funeral ceremony, which was held at the Tema Community 8 School Park, witnessed a lot of members of the creative arts fraternity, such as Diana Asamoah, Joe Mettle, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Kofi Kinaata, Broda Sammy, among others, sympathising with the musician.
