Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo made headlines after scoring his first Austrian Bundesliga goal, helping Red Bull Salzburg secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Cashpoint SCR Altach on Saturday evening.
Despite dominating much of the first half, Salzburg found themselves trailing after Altach’s Lukas Fridrikas scored in the 60th minute from a rebound after Alexander Schlager saved Gebauer’s initial effort.
Salzburg, determined to turn things around, struck back in the final 20 minutes. Karim Konate headed home from a superb Dedic cross in the 84th minute to level the score. Just two minutes later, Konate set up Baidoo, who found the net with his first league goal, sealing a late 2-1 win for the home side.
Baidoo’s goal capped a remarkable turnaround and demonstrated his potential following his summer move to Salzburg.
