Thomas Partey made his La Liga debut against Real Oviedo

Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey, received massive applauds from the fans of Villareal after making his Spanish La Liga debut against Real Oviedo.

Partey, who joined Villareal as a free agent from Arsenal, was handed his debut in the 82nd minute against newly-promoted side, Real Oviedo, on the opening day of the new La Liga season.

The Ghanaian was given a standing ovation by the Villareal fans at the Estadio de la Ceramica, as he made his way onto the pitch as a substitute for Spanish international, Santi Comesana.

Partey’s introduction helped the home side to control the tempo of the game, thus protecting their 2-0 lead and ending the night with their first victory and three points of the new football season.

There was also a warm reception for Santi Cazorla on his return to the Estadio de la Cerámica and to the Spanish La Liga.
