Highlife musician and Presidential Staffer for the Black Stars Experience, Rex Omar, was in attendance at the forecourt of the State House to pay his last respect to the late artiste Dada Kweku Duah (KD) on September 20, 2025.
The government official, dressed in all-black attire, filed past the body of the deceased artiste to honour his legacy.
In addition to Omar, a delegation from the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and fans of the Lumba Brothers group were also present to pay their respects and celebrate the late musician.
Dada KD’s body lay in a white casket, beautifully adorned with green and white flowers to mark the occasion.
In recognition of his musical contributions that helped project the nation internationally, the government is assisting with funeral arrangements in collaboration with the family.
Highlife legend Dada KD is dead
The funeral has drawn a large crowd of fans and industry figures, all paying tribute to Dada KD’s lasting impact on Ghanaian music.
Mourners are expected to wear black and white in remembrance of the highlife legend, whose death on May 17, 2025, after a short illness, shocked many.
