A video involving the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ledzokuku Constituency, Israel Adjetey, and a foreign businessman operating in Ghana has sparked discussions online.
The footage, which surfaced on social media on November 5, 2025, shows the Ledzokuku MCE, Israel Adjetey, together with some task force members, engaged in a heated altercation with a foreign national as they demanded that he vacate his shop.
According to reports gathered by GhanaWeb, the confrontation ensued after the task force accused the businessman of failing to pay his property rate for over a year.
In the video, one of the task force members was heard insisting that their team was ready to lock up the shop if the businessman refused to pay, stressing that he could not evade taxes in his home country.
“We are locking this place because you have not paid. Can I go and do this in your country? You can be here for 100 years, but you have to pay,” she said.
During the back-and-forth between the task force member and the businessman, the investor argued that he had been operating in the country for several years and had always complied with payment requirements.
“We can discuss this, but you can’t tell me to go out. I have been here for 15 years. Why are you talking like that, madam? Every year, we pay for everything,” he stated.
The video has since triggered widespread reactions online, with netizens expressing mixed opinions about the confrontation.
