Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has shared his insights on the Premier League regarding some Ghanaian players who made history during their time in the league.

Over the last couple of years, some Ghanaian players have made significant contributions while playing in the Premier League. During an interview with Bleacher Report, Semenyo was asked to recall some of their moments.

There were some interesting choices during the test. Here is a look at them:

First Ghanaian player to feature in the Premier League

The forward was asked to name the first Ghanaian to ever compete in the Premier League, but unfortunately, he mentioned Leeds’ Tony Yeboah, which was the wrong answer.

The first Ghanaian to play in the Premier League was Nii Odartey Lamptey. Lamptey played for Aston Villa in 1994 before Anthony Yeboah made his Premier League debut in 1995.

Although Nii Odartey Lamptey made his debut before Anthony Yeboah, the latter made history as the first Ghanaian to score in the Premier League.

Yeboah’s goal was also the winning goal on the day as Leeds beat Everton 1-0. Semenyo was well aware of this one and got it correct. He further disclosed how his dad played with Yeboah.

Some other questions included the Ghanaian with the most Premier League appearances, the first Ghanaian player to win the title, and the other two Ghanaians to have won the title.
