Following the court ruling that reduced the prison sentence of controversial evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, her husband, Angel Isaac Asiamah, was seen with his shirt off, displaying a message on in his singlet as a form of celebration.

In videos making waves on social media, Angel Asiamah was seen walking out of the court all smiles.

The pastor, who was clad in a black T-shirt and black trousers, was then seen outside the courtroom lifting up his shirt to show a black singlet with a picture and an inscription.

The singlet bore a picture of two hands enclosed, as if in prayer, with the writing ‘Pray Everyday’ on it.

Speaking to journalists at the court forecourt shortly after the ruling on February 5, 2026, Angel Asiamah stated that the court’s decision to reduce Agradaa’s sentence from 15 years to 12 months has brought renewed hope to their family.

“I am the happiest man on earth,” he said.

Amasaman High Court reduces Agradaa’s 15-year jail term

    What happened?

Agradaa is currently serving her sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison after an Accra Circuit Court handed her a 15-year conviction on July 3, 2025, for charlatanic advertising and defrauding by false pretences.

She was accused of collecting various sums of monies from church attendees after promoting supposed money-doubling powers.

Prosecutors based their case on her activities on Today’s TV and several social media platforms, where she advertised the scheme and encouraged the public to attend an all-night church service, promising to double their money through spiritual intervention.

More than 1,000 people reportedly attended the service and handed over large sums of cash.

However, the promise was not fulfilled, leaving many financially distressed.

Agradaa and her lawyers subsequently filed an appeal and first appeared before the Amasaman High Court on December 4, 2025.

In her appeal documents, she argued that the trial was unfair, the evidence did not support the ruling, and that the 15-year sentence was excessive.

In a court ruling on February 5, 2026, the court agreed with her and reduced the 15-year sentence to 12 months on counts two and three.

She was also fined 200 penalty units (GH¢2,400) and ordered to refund GH¢1,000 to the two complainants, in addition to fines for the remaining count.
