The Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah attended a Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul Parish Catholic Church at Wassa Akropong on Sunday, 18th May, 2025, after being nominated and confirmed into his new office.

The event, according to the MCE, was to express gratitude to the Almighty God for His guidance and protection throughout the nomination and confirmation process.

He thanked church leaders and worshippers for their support, prayers, and guidance during his confirmation.

Hon. Ebbah was accompanied by Amenfi East Constituency executives, regional executive members, fellow MCEs, family, and well-wishers.

In his address to the congregation, the MCE pledged to collaborate fully with the Member of Parliament and church leaders to develop the municipality during his tenure.

As a token of appreciation and commitment to supporting church activities, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah donated a monstrance to the church.

He also pledged to establish a sachet water company for the Catholic church to create employment opportunities and generate revenue.

Advocating for peace and stability, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah emphasized the importance of political tolerance among residents, recognizing the diverse political landscape of Wassa Amenfi East in the Western region.

He highlighted that respecting differing political opinions and affiliations is crucial for maintaining harmony and fostering development within the municipality.

According to the MCE, this call for tolerance aims to create a safe environment for individuals to express their political views without fear.

Nana Ebbah shared his view that being a political opponent shouldn’t create room for division but rather foster idea sharing that strengthens democracy and freedom of expression.

Very Rev. Father Charles Foakye, Parish Priest of St. Paul Parish Catholic Church called on church members and residents to support the newly elected MCE in his duties.

He reminded Hon. Ebbah to take President Mahama’s directive on tackling sanitation challenges seriously.

Very Rev. Foakye also urged the congregation and residents to maintain proper hygiene and a clean environment, noting that cleanliness is next to godliness.
