From L to R: Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid

Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has identified Nigerian superstars Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, along with Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, as key personalities in Africa who have the potential to dominate the global music scene.

He has expressed the belief that unity among these African artistes will lead to global dominance in music and culture.

In a viral video, Vybz Kartel said, “Believe me, I know Shatta Wale, my brother man. Soon I’ll talk to Wizkid, my brother man. Mi talk to Davido the other day, mi talk to Burna Boy the other day, that’s my brother man. The point I am trying to make is, one African family dominating the globe.”

His comments have since caused a stir online, as the personalities he mentioned are all at loggerheads with each other.

Also, Stonebwoy has been trending following this development, with fans of Shatta Wale mocking the BHIM Nation boss for not being included among the music front-runners in Africa.

Over the years, African artistes have gained massive recognition, selling out international arenas, topping global charts, and collaborating with some of the biggest names in music.

Shatta Wale, for instance, has been a key player in the African dancehall music, promoting Ghanaian music internationally.

One instance is when he was recently in the Caribbean to perform with Vybz Kartel.

Also, his collaboration with Beyoncé on ‘Already,’ which was featured on the ‘Lion King: The Gift album’, was a major turning point for Africa music introducing the Africa sound to international markets.
